A little ABOUT MRS. HARTMAN
Hello! My name is Mrs. Owens-Hartman. I know we will all have an enjoyable time this semester in your Computer course. To tell you a little about myself, I graduated with a bachelor degree in marketing with a minor in Spanish from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. I received my master's degree in secondary education and my computer science certification from The University of Akron. I am currently working on my PHD with a focus on technology at The University of Akron. I have a 3 year old daughter named Haley and 6 year old son named William. My dog's name is Zoe and my cat's name is Besa. Along with Mr. Burket, I am also the Senior Advisor.
I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you!
WEB DESIGN
So what do we learn in Web Design? The creating of web pages, updating, editing, and graphic webbing will be some of the concepts that you will learn during this semester long course. You will be introduced to software called Dreamweaver and IWeb. We will also create wikis and work on the Springfield web site. The Internet and other software programs (i.e. Inspiration and Gimp) will also be used.
MULTIMEDIA
So what do we learn in Multimedia? Multimedia is a hands on semester long course. Photo creation, editing, and video production will be some of the concepts that you will learn. Some of the software programs that will be used include: Gimp, Powerpoint, Print Explosion, Timeliner, Inspiration, GarageBand, and Imovie. We will also be using the Internet, Scanner and Digital Camera and throughout the semester will help with school projects. We also try to enter contests such as redesigning the Google Logo to win prizes!
COMPUTER APPS
So what do we learn in CA? CA is a semester long class. Web 2.0 applications are a large part of this class including Google Apps, wikis, pageflakes, delicious, and other cloud computing technologies. Desktop publishing (creating school projects), internet research, e-mail, storage techniques, and graphic webbing will be some of the concepts that you will learn. Some of the software programs that will be used include: Timeliner, Excel, Inspiration, Powerpoint and Appleworks.
